| In all reality a meaningless four game series with the Twins coming up, but still fustrating to lose a game like this. Josh Beckett falls 3 strikeouts shy of the 200 mark in his final start of the season, and was in line for the loss until Mike Lowell smashes a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 8th off of Twins stopper Joe Nathan to give the Sox the 3-2 lead. Jonathan Papelbon comes in for the 9th, but gets his 4th blown save of the year as the Twins tie the game on a double and a single. In the top of the 13th with a runner on first for the Twins, Chris Heintz doubles off of Manny Declarmen to score a runner fron first with Heintz taking third on the throw home. Heints is then bunted home on a sucessful squeeze play by Alexi Casilla as the Twins get two runs. The Sox go down quietly in the bottom of the 13th, and lose the game. |
