September 25, 2007 Red Sox 7, A's 2

Without even playing a game, the Red Sox clinched the AL East. Toronto lost yesterday on the Sox off-day, and that gave the Sox the division title. From here on out is just a playoff tune-up. Curt Schilling gets win number 16 and Dustin Pedroia knocks in 3 runs from the leadoff spot including a homer and the Sox win their 4th straight.

The Cleveland Indians won today, which gives then the AL Central title. The American League playoffs are now set, even with almost a a week left in the season. The Boston Red Sox win the East, Cleveland Indians the Central, Los Angeles Angels the West, and Toronto Blue Jays the wild card. The first round matchups will be Toronto-LA and Cleveland-Boston. This will be my third straight SOM season that the Red Sox and Indians will have met in the first round. Last year doesn't count, since I never finished the season!
