September 12, 2007 Rockies 4, Phillies 1

Brad Hawpe singlehandedly beats the Phils with his bat, smashing two homeruns and knocking in three. No lack of baserunners for the Phillies as they get 12 hits and walk 3 times, but can only get one run across. That run oddly enough didn't even score via hit, it came home on a wild pitch!!

Twice in the early stages of the game pitcher Kyle Kendrick came to the plate with runners on first and second with two outs, getting the third out each time. When it happened again for the third time and the Phillies down 3-0 in the 6th inning it is pinch-hit time, and Wes Helms rips a single. Greg Dobbs tries to score from second, but gets thrown out at home!

Brad Hawpe slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Colorado Rockies beat the
Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 4 to 1.

Hawpe was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense. He doubled in the 2nd inning, cracked a two-run shot
in the 4th inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 25th of the season) in
the 7th inning. Although they lost, Philadelphia did out-hit Colorado 12 to
8.

Denny Bautista(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing no runs. Brian Fuentes gained credit for his 14th save. The loss
was charged to Kyle Kendrick(8-6).
