| What a wild. crazy, absolutely insane game. The play account is blogged after the game to make it easier to follow, as I will just give the highlights. The Blue Jays (actually me as I do the lineups and decide the starters, but the computer plays the game) decide to give Ray Halladay the start on only 3 days rest since he only went 3 2/3 innings in game 1, and it almost backfired on them as he allows 6 runs in the first two innings including a Garrett Anderson grand slam. The Jays though keep Halladay in the game with 7 runs over the first two innings, six of those on a pair of 3-run homeruns for Russ Adams in the 2nd and 3rd innings. The Jays up the lead to 9-6 with two more runs in the 4th until Juan Rivera ties it up on one pitch with a 3-run homerun for the Angels in the 7th. It quiets down some and goes to extra frames until the Angels get the go-ahead run in the 10th inning on an error to take a 10-9 lead and have their chance to win the game and series. Francisco Rodriguez comes in to try to get his 3rd save in the series, but doesn't as he throws a wild pitch which ties the game and then a walk-off double for Reed Johnson for another run wins the game for the Jays in the bottom of the 10th. Starters for the deciding game 5 - Cy Young award John Lackey for the Angels and A. J. Burnett for the Blue Jays, with the winner going on to face the Indians in the AL Championship Series. |

Third baseman Russ Adams rocketed 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI at Rogers Centre
where the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Los Angeles(AL) Angels in 10 innings 11
to 10.
Both teams were tied at 9 runs apiece after nine innings. Toronto ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Adams keyed the
rally when he laced a base-knock. Adams was safe at second on a stolen base.
Gregg Zaun then reached on an error. Francisco Rodriguez then unleashed a
wild pitch which plated a run. Matt Stairs got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Reed Johnson kept things alive and
doubled giving Toronto the victory and sending the 48,628 home-town fans home
happy. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 6 times.
Jeremy Accardo(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Rodriguez(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
