Brett Myers gets his 8th blown save of the year as the Marlins retie the game in the top of the 9th, and the Phillies finally come through victorious in the 11th. Ryan Howard singles but overruns first and is thrown out. Aaron Rowand rips a single, and Greg Dobbs gets another single with Rowand trying for third. Jeremy Hermedia throws the ball over third base, and Rowand comes home with the winning run. |

10,060 fans watched an exciting game at Citizen's Bank Park. The Philadelphia
Phillies halted a 5 game slide and topped the Florida Marlins by the slimmest
of margins, 8 to 7.
The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings. Philadelphia ended up winning
it in the 11th inning. Ryan Howard lined a one-base hit. Aaron Rowand was
next and he drew a walk. Greg Dobbs then stroked a base-hit, and an error
was also committed, making Philadelphia victorious to the delight of the the
home town crowd. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 6
times.
Tom Gordon(1-2) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Daniel Barone(0-2)
ended up with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 1/3 of
an inning.
