The indomitable Boston Red Sox batters feasted on the New York (AL) Yankees
pitching at Yankee Stadium. The final score was a lop-sided 11 to 3.
Boston set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring one runner using 2
hits. After an out was recorded, Coco Crisp lined a single. Crisp got a
good lead and stole second. David Ortiz then stroked a one-base hit scoring
the run. Boston kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored
in 6 different innings.
The victory was credited to Curt Schilling(12-5) who went 6 innings, allowing
2 runs. Chien-Ming Wang(12-6) was given the loss. His ERA increased from
3.20 to 3.47 as he allowed 7 runs in 5 innings.
