August 30, 2007 Phillies 11, Mets 2

Pat Burrell is in the groove today, with 2 doubles and a 2 run homerun which is part of a 5 run 8th inning that puts the game out of reach. Other stars on offense include Jimmy Rollins (4 for 4 scoring 3 times), Chase Utley (3 for 5 with a homer) and Ryan Howard, who surpasses the 100 RBI mark for the season with an 8th inning 2-run double. On the pitching side, Kyle Lohse goes to 3-0 as a Phillie as he only had allowed one hit until the Mets break the shutout in the 7th.

Still a long way to go for the Phillies though, as they sit 18 behind the Mets for the wild card nd 18 1/2 behind the division leading Braves with 30 games left on the schedule. 9 of those games are against the Mets and Braves, which will make or break the season.
