August 27, 2007 Mets 9, Phillies 7

Were it not for some shoddy defense, this would have been a 7-3 Phillie win. Ryan Howard muffs the potential third out in the 5th inning which would load the bases for the Mets, and then a walk and two doubles knock 5 runs home, four unearned. The Phillies do get 4 right back in the bottom of the 5th with three of them on back-to-back homers for Aaron Rowand and Ryan Howard, and Tadahito Iguchi gets a pinch-hit homer in the 8th, but it is not enough.

The Phillies remain winless against the Mets so far this season. now at 0-12.

potent New York (NL) Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies by the count of 9 to
7.

isolated run on 3 hits. Luis Castillo laced a base-knock. After an out was
recorded, Carlos Beltran stepped in and he lined a one-base hit. Moises Alou
then stroked a base-hit scoring the run. Both teams totaled 14 hits on the
night.
