August 24, 2007 White Sox 5, Red Sox 4

In game two of the doubleheader, the Pale Hose get revenge for the game one slaughter with the 5-4 win. It looked wild at first when both teams had 4-run first innings, but everything settled down after that and the only other run of the game was a Josh Fields solo homerun in the 5th. Homerun played a big role in the scoring today, as 3-run shots by David Ortiz and Paul Konerko were big contributers in the first inning.

Bobby Jenks goes the 9th for Chicago and gets him major league leading 42nd save.

Here is the wild first inning:

Third baseman Josh Fields homered as the Chicago (AL) White Sox defeated the
Boston Red Sox 5 to 4 at US Cellular Field.

Chicago (AL) took the lead for keeps in the 5th inning scoring one runner.
Boston threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

John Danks(7-10) went 6 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Bobby Jenks got
the save, his 42nd. Curt Schilling(11-5) was hit with the loss.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Gary Lucas after the game. 'We
lost this game tonight because we didn't follow the instructions every Little
Leaguer hears every day.'
