Third baseman Mike Lowell jacked one out of the ballyard and had 4 RBI as the
Boston Red Sox outscored the Chicago (AL) White Sox 11 to 2.
Lowell was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He blasted a two-run home run (his 12th of the
season) in the 4th inning, stroked a single scoring two baserunners in the
5th inning and laced a base-hit in the 8th inning. Chicago (AL) was out-hit
by Boston, 16 hits to 7.
Josh Beckett(15-4) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Jon
Garland(7-11) took the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 4 runs
in 3 and 2/3 innings.
