| In the battle of the old men, Greg Maddox gets the better of Jamie Moyer in a Braves romp. Not totally Moyer's fault, as he can blame some of his teammates. Four Phillie errors on the day lead to 5 unearned Brave runs, and his teammates also didn't help with the bat as Maddox throws the 6-hit shutout. Overall, a bad day for the over 43,000 in attendance, most of whom had left after the 6th inning when the lead reached 9-0. The only positive note for the Phillies today - Aaron Rowand gets 2 of the 6 hits off Maddox to extend his hitting streak to 19 games. |

Khalil Greene had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Greg Maddux threw a complete game
shutout at Citizen's Bank Park as the blistering-hot San Diego Padres beat
the Philadelphia Phillies 9 to 0.
Maddux(8-12) gave San Diego a solid outing. He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.40 to
4.15. San Diego totaled 12 hits on the night.
Jamie Moyer(9-12) suffered the loss. He surrendered 7 hits and 3 walks in 5
innings. No one has been able to stop San Diego lately as they lengthened
their winning streak to 7 games. 'I'm glad to get the win', Maddux said.
'We've got some good momentum going now.'
