| The Phillies get out the broom and sweep the Dodgers back to the west coast with a thrilling comeback victory. The Dodgers have a 3-1 lead entering the bottom of the 8th. The first two Phillie batters get outs. Tadahito Iguchi walks, and Aaron Rowand singles. Dodgers stopper Takashi Saito enters the game to squelch the rally. Not today, as he walks Ryan Howard to load the bases, and Pat Burrell rips a hanger into the left field seats for the grand slam and a sudden 5-3 Phillie lead. Burrell gives the Dodgers one of the runs back, misplaying a Shea Hillenbrand double and allows Shea to score, but Brett Myers goes from there with no more damage and gets the save. 19-7 recent run for the Phillies, and including today they have had double digit hits in all but 5 of those 26 games. Nice to see the offense finally wake up. |

Aaron Rowand had 2 base hits as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Los
Angeles(NL) Dodgers 5 to 4 at Citizen's Bank Park.
Philadelphia had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning when they
scored 4 runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Pat Burrell who
made the crowd happy when he launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 23rd of the
season). Los Angeles(NL) had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came
up short.
J.C. Romero(1-3) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2/3 of an inning. Brett
Myers recorded his 8th save. Takashi Saito(3-4) was the losing pitcher in
relief.
