August 8, 2007 Angels 5, Red Sox 2

The Angels flex the muscles in their arms instead of their legs today, hitting three homers and getting the 5-2 win. Dustin Moseley and Chris Bootcheck hold the Sox in check until two were out in the bottom of the 9th, when David Ortiz gets a pinch-hit double to score two. Papi tried for third on the throw home, but the ball gets to third before he does for the final out. Maybe not too smart on my part to try for third, but with two out in the 9th and down by three you take that chance.

Bootcheck, despite allowing the two runs, still gets the save as he pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief. Of his four saves on the year, three of them have been of the three inning variety.
