August 6, 2007 Red Sox 5, Angels 2

As the Sox travel further south down the West Coast, Curt Schilling goes 7 solid innings in his first game back from injury and the Sox beat the AL West leading Angels. Schilling wasn't the only star today, as Manny Ramirez goes 4 for 5, getting 4 hits for the second consecutive game for a torrid .889 average for two games and .337 for the season. The Angels would load the bases in the 9th on a hit and two walks with one out off of Papelbon, but Paps bears down retiring the final two batters in the 9th and gets save number 30 for the season.

The Angels have been just as hot as the Red Sox recently, as including today have gone on a 13-4 run (comparable to the recent 17-4 run for the Sox), have the best record in the majors, and lead the AL West by 15 games.
