August 5, 2007 Red Sox 8, Mariners 5

Josh Beckett is not as solid on the mound today, allowing the Mariners 4 runs in the 2nd ining, but the Sox offense takes him off the hook and gives him his 6th straight win. After that 4 run 2nd gives Seattle the lead, the Sox come alive with 2 runs in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and a single run in the 6th. With the three run lead and after Mike Timlin pitch a quick 8th inning, he was going to stay in for the save but after an out and a walk and with Ichiro coming to the plate, took no chances as Paps comes in to get the final two outs uneventfully.

Manny Ramirez has a 4 for 4 day with 2 doubles to cap the Sox 15 hit offensive outburst today. All starters except for Kevin Youkilis get at least one hit.
