| The Phillies go 90 miles up the road from Wrigley to play the Brewers, and get the 7-3 win over the Brew Crew. An early 4-0 lead is almost erased by the Brewers as they get single runs in the 5th, 6th and 8th innings, but the Phils ice the cake with a 3 run 9th. A run scoring on a wild pitch, and Jimmy Rollins RBI triple to go with Ryan Howard's RBI single get the 3 runs and get the win. Even with the Phillies winning 5 of their last 8, no saves have been recorded for the team in that stretch. Thought I might have a save opportunity today, but the 3 run 9th gave them the 4 run lead, negating the save chance. Of the teams 48 wins, only 21 have had a save recorded in them with 5 pitchers having saves on the season due to the earlier closer by committee situation. Antonio Alfonseca leads the yeam in saves with 8. FYI, of the Red Sox 66 wins, 33 have had saves recorded, with 28 of them (more than the entire Phillie team) by Jonathan Papelbon. |

Catcher Chris Coste left the yard and had 2 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies
topped the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 7 to 3 at Miller Park.
Milwaukee was unable to claim the lead after Philadelphia went ahead in the
3rd inning scoring a single run using 2 hits. After an out was recorded,
Coste smacked a single. Kyle Kendrick came next and he laid down a sacrifice
bunt. Jayson Werth then was walked intentionally. Tadahito Iguchi was up
next and he banged out a one-base hit scoring the run. Philadelphia had 11
hits for the game and Milwaukee had 8.
Kendrick(4-4) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Yovani Gallardo(4-2)
was given the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 7 innings.
With this win, Philadelphia has a 48-61 record. They have been 7-3 lately.
