| Pat Burrell and Tadahito Iguchi each knock in 3 runs and Adam Eaton for once has a fairly decent start as the Phillies outlast the Braves. Eaton only made one mistake in the game accounting for all three runs he allowed - a 3-run homerun by Chipper Jones in the 5th which at the time tied the game. Burrell continues to swing a hot bat with two hits and three RBI (2-run homer and RBI single), while Iguchi knocks in three (2 doubles, one with the bases loaded for all 3 ribbies). The Braves do get two in the 9th to close within three runs, but Tom Gordon gets the final two outs for the save. |

Pat Burrell left the yard and had 3 RBI at Citizen's Bank Park where the
Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 8 to 5.
Philadelphia jumped on top to stay in the 5th inning as they scored 2 runs on
3 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Burrell who thrilled the
crowd when he delivered a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Atlanta
threatened in the 9th but Philadelphia was able to put down the rally.
Adam Eaton(6-13) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings. Tom
Gordon was credited with his 7th save. The loss was charged to Lance
Cormier(1-2). He allowed Philadelphia 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.
