| The red-hot Red Sox, now 18-3 in their last 21 games, score single runs in the bottom of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th innings erasing a 3-0 defecit and come away victorious. Josh Fields 2-run blast and a solo shot for Juan Uribe, both in the 3rd off Kason Gabbard, put the ChiSox up 3-0, but then the boys from Beantown went to work. Dustin Pedroia's solo homer in the 6th, Kevin Youkilis with a solo shot in the 7th, and Mike Lowell's RBI single in the 8th tie the game up 3-all. In the bottom of the 9th, Jason Varitek singles (part of a 3 for 4 day) with Alex Cora coming in to pinch-run. A single for Wily Mo Pena puts Cora to second. David Ortiz comes in to pinch-hit for Julio Lugo hoping to end the game right there, but grounds into the 6-4-3 double play with Cora going to third base. Coco Crisp rips one to right, Cora scores and the hometown fans celebrate another Red Sox walk-off win. |
