July 21, 2007 Phillies 2, Padres 1

The Phillies were outhit by the Padres 5-3 but three Padre errors, including two costly ones in the 3rd inning, gives the Phillies both of their runs for all they would need. Carlos Ruiz led off the 3rd being hit by a pitch and Jamie Moyer bunts him to second. Shane Victorino taps a slow grounder to third baseman Kevin Kousmanoff, whose throw to first in in the dirt and ends up in the dugout enabling Ruiz to score the first run of the game as Vic goes to second. Jimmy Rollins hits a grounder to first, muffed for an error this time for Adrian Gonzalez to send Victorino to third. Chase Utley gets the sac fly to left with Victorino scoring easily for two unearned runs.

The two 44 year old lefties, Moyer and David Wells, lock horns in a pitchers duel as Wells goes 7 innings allowing just the two unearned 3rd inning runs, while Moyer pitches shutout ball until one out in the 8th. Ryan Madson entices a double play grounder to end the 8th, and Antonio Alfonseca pitches a spotless 9th for the save.
