June 26, 2007 Mariners 7, Red Sox 6 (11)

Good games for Eric Hinske (4 for 5, 2B, 3B) and Coco Crisp (3 for 6, 2B, 3B) is offset by some sloppy defense. JD Drew dropped a fly ball for an error to score a run in the 3rd inning which at the time made it a 6-4 Mariner lead. Drew makes up for it with an RBI single in the 7th, and the Sox tie it in the 8th with Hinske's triple and Alex Cora's squeeze for an RBI.

Papelbon comes into the game in the 10th inning to keep the Mariners in check, but the move backfires in the 11th. A Yuniesky Bettancourt double and Willie Bloomquist strikeout brings in Ichiro Suzuki with first base open. Any idiot knows that in the bottom of the 11th with one out, first base open in a tie game (the only runner that matters is the one at second base) you sure as hell won't pitch to Ichiro, so he is walked intentionally. However, the 0 for the game so far Jose Lopez smacks a single to right, Drew throws home and Bettancourt beats the throw home for the Mariner walk-off win and the second loss in three days for Paps.

Season high 5th straight loss for the Sox, and 4-10 in their last 14 games.

Adrian Beltre jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI as the Seattle
Mariners beat the Boston Red Sox in 11 innings by a score of 7 to 6.

The score was tied at 6 after nine. Seattle ended up winning it in the 11th
inning. Yuniesky Betancourt doubled. Willie Bloomquist struck out, unable
to help the rally. Ichiro Suzuki then was walked intentionally. Jose Lopez
followed and he hit a single making Seattle the victors to the delight of the
home town faithful. Seattle won despite being out-hit by Boston 12 hits to
9.

The win went to Jason Davis(3-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Jonathan Papelbon(0-4) in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings
allowing 2 hits and 2 walks.
