| C. C. Sabitha goes the distance in a 129 pitch effort, striking out 11 as the Tribe put a whippin' on the Phillies. It started off well for the Phils as Shane Victorino laces a 2-run bomb in the top of the 1st, but it was all Indians from there. Most of the damage was done off Jon Lieber in his final start of the year, with 8 hits and 8 runs off him in less than 5 innings. The Indians lit up the scoreboard from the 4th through 6th innings, getting 8 of their runs. Ryan Garko had a hell of a day, 4 for 4 with 5 RBI with 2-run and 3-run blasts in consecutive innings. Old friend Jason Michaels goes 3 for 4, scoring twice. Another old friend, Trot Nixon, goes 0 for 4. |

C.C. Sabathia struck out 11 batters and first baseman Ryan Garko smashed 2
homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Cleveland Indians outscored the Philadelphia
Phillies 10 to 3.
Garko provided much of the offense. He laced a base-hit in the 2nd inning,
bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his
14th of the season) in the 5th inning and smacked a single in the 7th inning.
Cleveland rapped out 16 hits for the night.
Sabathia(7-4) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Jon
Lieber(4-4) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits and 2
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
Sabathia was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out
there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the
victory and I'll sure take 11 strikeouts anytime!'
