| The Phillies are done in for their 8th straight loss by Chris Sampson, Lance Berkman and some sloppy defense. Sampson throws the shutout, tossing the 4-hitter at the Phils. Lance Berkamm gets the games first runs with a 2-run homer as part of a 3-run 3rd for the Astros, and has a 4 for 4 day at the plate. And to make matters worse, Jimmy Rollins throws a sure inning-ending double play ball over Chase Utley's head in the 8th for a two base error and lets a run score, and Wes Helms also commits an error later in the inning for another run. All three runs that Ryan Madson allowed in the 9th were unearned. |
