July 1, 2007 Diamondbacks 5, Giants 2 (12)

Ted Linecum of the Giants comes fairly close to a no-hitter. An Eric Byrnes triple with one out in the 3rd inning (Byrnes would score on a groundout) would be the only hit Linecum would allow through 8 innings. The game would be 1-1 until the Giants get a run in the bottom of the 8th to take the 2-1 lead. Brad Hennessey coughs up the lead in the 9th as Arizona ties the game, and the Diamondbacks get 3 runs in the 12th inning to get the win.

At AT&T Park the Arizona Diamondbacks outscored the San Francisco Giants in 12
innings 5 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Finally, Arizona pulled the game out in
the 12th inning. Conor Jackson started the attack as he smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 17th of the season). Chris Snyder stepped into
the batter's box and he drew a walk. Eric Byrnes then doubled scoring
another run. After an out was recorded, Orlando Hudson came to the plate and
delivered a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Despite losing,
San Francisco out-hit Arizona 8 to 5.

Juan Cruz(5-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jose
Valverde earned his 15th save. Jonathan Sanchez(1-1) absorbed the loss in
relief. He surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 1/3 of an inning.
