The New York (NL) Mets easily topped the Philadelphia Phillies; the final
score was 9 to 2.
Jose Reyes had a good evening at the plate. He banged out a single in the 4th
inning, laced a one-base hit scoring two baserunners in the 5th inning and
cracked a two-run shot (his 4th of the season) in the 8th inning. New York
(NL) had 13 hits for the night while Philadelphia had 7.
The victory was credited to Orlando Hernandez(5-1) who went 7 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Adam Eaton(3-7) was given the loss. With this win, New York
(NL) has a division leading 36-21 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With
the loss Philadelphia now has a record of 22-37.
