June 5, 2007 Mets 7, Phillies 1

Again today, as has been the case all season, the starter for the Phillies smokes right along through the first 4 or 5 innings, I decide not to pinch hit when he comes to bat for the second time somewhere around the 5th inning, then he falls apart after that. A pitchers duel betwen 40-somethings Jamie Moyer and Tom Glavine turns into an easy Mets win. The Phils got a run in the 3rd, and held that lead with Moyer shutting out the Mets and smoking right along until he fell apart in the 6th. David Wright with an RBI double and Paul lo Duca 's 3-run homer give the Mets four in the inning and the lead off Moyer. To add insult to injury, Endy Chavez (who came in as a defensive replacement in the 7th) smashes a 3-run blast off Ryan Madson in the 8th to nail the coffin shut.

finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the New York
(NL) Mets outscored the Philadelphia Phillies 7 to 1.
