| Kyle Kendrick, despite being roughed up for 5 runs, manages to hang on the required 5 innings and gets the win in his major league debut. He has the Phillie offense to thank, as a 9 run 3rd inning (on only 5 hits) gives the Phils the big lead early. The White Sox made it a slugfest, outscoring the Phils 8-4 the rest of the way. Of note, Rod Barajas gets two errors for the game, twice overthrowing runners on steal attempts giving the runners third base. One of them, catcher A. J. Pierzyski the last man you would expect to steal, got the steal when the split card came up a 1 on a 1-1 chance of a steal!!
