May 30, 2007 Red Sox 12, Indians 8

The Sox get out the broom, sweeping the Indians in a wild one. 20 runs, 23 hits, 12 walks, 11 doubles, and 4 homeruns between the teams.

It didn't look good at first, as Cleveland gets homeruns by Casey Blake and a 3-run blast for Trot right out of the gate off Daisuke Matsuzaka to lead 4-0. The Sox bat around in the bottom of the 1st, getting 6 of their own courtesy of 3 straight doubles for Coco, Youk and Papi, a 2-run shot for Mike Lowell and a solo homer for Jason Varitek (back to back with Lowell).

Despite Dice-K leaving the game with an 11-8 lead, he doesn't get the win because he couldn't last 5 innings, knocked out in the 4th allowing 8 runs for the second consecutive start. The win goes to Joel Pineiro, with a solid 3 2/3 innings of shutout long relief. Kyle Snyder and Brendan Donnelly finished up. The relievers after the top of the 4th took over, as after the wild start only one run would score the remainder of the game.

Mike Lowell lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 4 RBI as the Boston Red
Sox topped the Cleveland Indians by a score of 12 to 8 at Fenway
Park.

Lowell made sure the Boston fans enjoyed themselves. He cracked a two-run
shot (his 4th of the season) in the 1st inning, doubled plating two runs in
the 3rd inning and doubled in the 4th inning. Boston banged out 11 hits on
the night.

Joel Pineiro(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 3 and 2/3 innings. Tom
Mastny(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 6 runs in 2 and 1/3
innings of work.
