| In a game that just flew by (only 2:25), JD Drew slams a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning off the still winless Cliff Lee to give the Sox the lead that they would never relinquish. They added a couple of insurance runs in the 8th via a Youk single and Manny double. Almost half of the Sox hits today belonged to Manny, who went 3 for 4 with two doubles. The pitching was perfect today - the classic example of what a staff should do. Starter Curt Schilling pitches 7 strong innings, Hideki Okajima goes one inning for the hold, and Paps strikes out the side in the 9th for the save. Now if this would be the norm I would be all set!! |
