With the bases loaded, no outs, and trailing 6-4, Julio Lugo pops out for out number one and Coco cannot duplicate his feat the previous inning as he grounds into a game-ending double play. In a close game it was the Texas Rangers 6, the Boston Red Sox 4 at Ameriquest
Field.
Texas had 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning. The big
moment was provided by Gerald Laird who made the crowd come alive when he
tripled bringing in two baserunners. Boston had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.
The victory went to Kameron Loe(3-2) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Joaquin Benoit gained credit for his 6th save. Julian Tavarez(2-4) was the
loser. He pitched 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 walks.
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Gary Lucas
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
