May 27, 2007 Phillies 2, Braves 0

Cole Hamels and Ryan Madson combines to toss a 6-hitter, as the Phillies avert the sweep and shutout the Braves. Hamels was smoking all game, 12 strikeouts until he started to run out of gas in the 8th.

Madson came out of the pen for the save attempt because Brett Myers is on the DL now, along with Tom Gordon. The real Phillies used Antonio Alfonseca as the stopper during this time as he had 8 saves in the real season, but since he is sucking so bad for me so far Madson gets the nod and delivers for the save.

Cole Hamels racked up an impressive total of 12 strikeouts as the Philadelphia
Phillies outscored the Atlanta Braves 2 to 0.

Hamels(3-5) looked very much in control throughout the day. He surrendered
only 5 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings lowering his ERA to 4.46.
Philadelphia had a total of 8 hits for the game.

Ryan Madson recorded his 2nd save. Kyle Davies(1-6) was tagged with the loss.
Hamels, when asked about his 12 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
