| A big 3-run first inning for the Braves proves to be the difference in the game, as iron man Tim Hudson gives them 8 strong innings. Hudson has pitched 89 innings for the season so far in 11 starts, leading the majors in innings. The Braves had lost 5 straight and fell out of first place prior to today, but when you play the Phillies..... Today also marked the return of Ryan Howard off the DL, and he gets a single and scores a run. Boy, was his .355 batting average and power sorely missed. The Phils also fall back into last place, as for a few days the Nationals had fallen below them thanks to the Nats 8 game losing streak. |
