| In a wild back and forth game with a combined total of 32 hits, three singles in the 10th inning for Aaron Rowand, Greg Dobbs and Chase Utley give the Phils a run that holds up as the game winner. Brett Myers blew the save in the 9th, but he stayed on for the 10th (even batting in the top of the 10th) and he gets the win. The big stories of the game were Cole Hamels and Aaron Roward. Hamels was like two different pitchers today. The first 7 outs he recorded were strikeouts, but the Marlins still got a couple of runs. Hamels ends up with 8 K for 5 innings, but allows 4 Marlin runs in 4th inning which gave the Marlins the 6-3 lead at the time. Aaron Rowand singlehandedly saved the game for the Phils, throwing two runners out at home for the second and third outs in the 8th inning. That would set the stage for Myers, who as I said blows the save but still ends up with the win. |
