The Boston Red Sox toppled the Atlanta Braves by a 8 to 4 score at Fenway
Park.
Boston scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning when they had 3 base
hits. The highlight belonged to Eric Hinske who thrilled the crowd when he
doubled with all three runners coming home. Both teams ended up with 11 hits
on the night.
Devern Hansack(1-0) allowed 4 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
John Smoltz(5-3) was given the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and
3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
