May 8, 2007 Phillies 5, Diamondbacks 1

A big 5 run 3rd inning with a 3-run bomb by Shane Victorino and a 2-run homer for Pat Burrell is all the Phils need to beat the Snakes and end their 6 game losing streak. As an added bonus, Adam Eaton pitches solidly, and even Brett Myers (in a non-save situation) got back in the groove with an inning and 2/3 of scoreless ball. Maybe this was the tonic that Myers needs to get back in his groove, as we already know how the first two stints as the closer turned out.

The Philadelphia Phillies halted a 5 game slide and defeated the Arizona
Diamondbacks by a score of 5 to 1 at Chase Field.

Philadelphia came up with all the runs they needed in the 3rd inning as they
scored 5 runs on 3 base hits. That was all the offense they were to need.
Both teams totaled 7 hits on the night.

Adam Eaton(2-4) got the win allowing 1 run in 6 and 2/3 innings. Micah
Owings(3-1) took the loss. He was unable to control the Philadelphia offense
and allowed 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
