| The disgust continues on this disasterous road trip as the Phillies lose their 6th straight. Just a look at the web gems should tell you the story of the season so far luck wise - Chase Utley was robbed of the game-tying homerun in the 8th by Chris Young. They are no match for closer Jose Valerde, as the Phils get nothing off him and lose. At least with only allowing four runs that knocked the Phils team ERA back down some - to 5.97! It had gone up over 6.00 during the Giants series. |

At Chase Field the Arizona Diamondbacks outscored the Philadelphia Phillies 4
to 1.
Arizona jumped on top to stay in the 5th inning scoring a single run utilizing
3 base hits. Alberto Callaspo laced a base-hit. After another out, Doug
Davis followed, but he was set down on strikes. Chris Young then doubled.
Conor Jackson was up next and he drew a walk. Orlando Hudson stepped into
the box and lashed a one-base hit scoring the run. Philadelphia was set down
quietly in the 9th.
The win was credited to Davis(3-3) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run.
Jose Valverde recorded the save, his 9th. Freddy Garcia(2-2) took the loss.
He surrendered 8 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings.
