May 3, 2007 Mariners 8, Red Sox 6

The Mariners, in a mini series making up a rainout earlier in April, bust out to a 6-2 early lead after 4 in Daisuke Matsuzaka's worst start of his young career, but the Sox get two runs in the 5th and 6th to tie the score, 6-6. But, the defense costs the Sox in the 9th as after Ichiro Suzuki led off with a triple, on the next batter Julio Lugo threw past home with the infield playing in for an error to score Ichiro, and a run would score later in the inning for the 8-6 Mariner lead. Manny would single in the Sox 9th, but J.J. Putz comes in and quiets the mini-rally to get his major-league leading 11th save of the season as the Sox lose their 5th straight.

Adrian Beltre jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the Seattle
Mariners outscored the Boston Red Sox 8 to 6.

Seattle scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 4 hits.
Ichiro Suzuki got things going when he tripled. Beltre stepped up to the
plate and he delivered a one-base hit, and an error was also committed,
knocking in a run. Jose Vidro then drew a walk. Raul Ibanez was up next and
he grounded into a double play. Richie Sexson came to the plate and slapped
a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Seattle ended up with 16
hits for the game while Boston had 9.

Sean White(3-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. White got
help from J.J. Putz who was credited with his 11th save. The losing pitcher
was J.C. Romero(0-1) in relief. He was unable to retire a batter giving up 2
hits and no walks.
