| For only the second time since the interleague play began in 1997, there will be no Phillies-Red Sox series. Instead, it is the Toronto Blue Jays in a rematch of the 1993 World Series, 14 years later!! As for the game itself, it was full of sloppiness on both sides with 3 errors for each team. Chase Utley is perfect on the day falling a triple shy of the cycle (3 for 3, single, 2B, HR) and walking twice while scoring three runs and driving in three. Every Phil starter had at least one hit except for pitcher Jon Lieber, and he walked twice! With the win, the Phillies have their first at least three game winning streak of the season, and have already won as many games in May so far as they did in the entire month of April! |

In a lop-sided win the Philadelphia Phillies ripped the Toronto Blue Jays by a
10 to 4 count.
Chase Utley enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He doubled in the 2nd inning,
cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 6th of the season) in the 3rd
inning and laced a one-base hit plating a run in the 4th inning.
Offensively, Philadelphia was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate
innings.
Jon Lieber(3-1) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Dustin
McGowan(1-2) was tagged with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 6 runs in 5 innings.
