Barry Bonds rocketed 3 homeruns and had 7 RBI and Matt Cain allowed Bruce
Bochy to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Chase Field as the
red-hot San Francisco Giants embarrassed the Arizona Diamondbacks by the
lopsided score of 14 to 1.
Bonds was a one-man wrecking crew. He cleared the fences for a two-run home
run in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, cleared the fences for a
two-run home run in the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and lofted a
three-run bomb (his 8th of the season) in the 8th inning. San Francisco had
19 hits for the night.
The winning pitcher was Cain(4-0) who allowed 1 run for the game. Edgar

'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Bonds said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
