April 27, 2007 Marlins 14, Phillies 9

In a disgusting display of suckness, the Phillies blow a 9-3 lead allowing the Marlins 3 back in the 7th courtesy of Dan Uggla's second homer of the day, and then a total collapse by Tom Gordon and Brett Myers in the 9th gives the Marlins 8 runs with 3 homeruns thrown in. Here is the top of the 9th:

*** TOP OF INNING 9 ***

2 2 H.Ramirez 4-11 5 Home Run 2-H b-H
2 D.Uggla 3- 8 5 Strike Out b-0

Absolutely horrid. Plenty to cheer about on the Phillies side besides the final score, with Shane Victorino going 5 for 5 knocking in 3, Carlos Ruiz 4 for 5 scoring twice, Jimmy Rollins with a 3-run homer, and even starting pitcher Freddy Garcia walking twice and scoring both times. Looked like a win entering the 9th, but Gordon and Myers suck ass and give the game away to Florida.

Second baseman Dan Uggla smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Citizen's Bank
Park as the Florida Marlins pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the
Philadelphia Phillies by the count of 14 to 9.

Florida put a big number on the board in the 9th inning, which proved too much
for Philadelphia to overcome as they creamed Philadelphia blasting them with
8 runs on 7 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Mike Jacobs who
helped quiet the crowd when he blasted a two-run home run (his 6th of the
season). It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.

The win was credited to Henry Owens(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Tom Gordon(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. Fredi Gonzalez was feeling
mighty fine as he answered questions in his office after the game, 'Now that
was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just sat there in silence
after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating wildly, and the stadium
is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
