April 25, 2007 Orioles 4, Red Sox 3

The Baltimore pitchers hold the Red Sox to only two hits, although both hits were homeruns. Kevin Youkilis hit his team leading 6th of the year in the 4th, and Manny with a 2-run shot in the 6th which at the time tied the game 3-3. Corey Patterson gives the Orioles the lead right back in the bottom of the 6th with a homer, and 4-3 ends up being the final.

David Ortiz had his 10 game hitting streak snapped, but what a 10 game stretch. 18 for 37 (.486 avg), 4 homeruns and 10 RBI to go along with 9 walks (and another walk today) in that 10 game stretch.

The surprise team of the season so far is the San Francisco Giants with their 17-2 record, and a current 14 game winning streak going. Not bad for a team who in the actual season lost 91 games and was 20 games below .500! Like you with the Orioles, it lacks explanation why such a bad team is so hot. Guess you never know what can happen in SOM!
