| Even with Tim Wakefield's second straight lousy start to give the Jays the 8-2 lead, the Sox mount the comeback scoring 8 runs over the final three innings to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. |

WEB GEMS- Top 8th: Dustin Pedroia robbed Matt Stairs of a base hit.
David Ortiz hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI and Jonathan Papelbon performed
beautifully in relief as the Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a
score of 10 to 9.
Boston came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning scoring 2
runs on 3 hits. Coco Crisp opened up the inning nicely when he doubled.
Crisp proceeded to steal third base. Dustin Pedroia then doubled plating a
run. One out later, Kevin Youkilis got his chance to keep things going, but
he went down on strikes. Ortiz came to the plate and doubled scoring the
final run of the inning. Toronto was out-hit by Boston, 15 hits to 11.
The winning pitcher was Mike Timlin(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 1 inning.
Papelbon earned the save, his 6th. Brian Tallet(0-1) was given the loss in
