April 22, 2007 Phillies 5, Reds 1

Two-run homeruns by Greg Dobbs and Aaron Rowand is more than enough for the Phils to salvage one win against the Reds. Freddy Garcia gives the much maligned Phillie bullpen a bit of a break, going 7 solid innings allowing only four hits and the one run. Dobbs would add an RBI single in the 8th for a nice 3 RBI day.

Jimmy Rollins, with his 0 for 5 day, had a 11 game hitting streak snapped. After slumping horribly in the seasons first week, he is batting much more Rollins-like now.

How maligned is the Phillie bullpen? Before this game I was checking the team stats, and the Phillie relievers had an ERA of around 7.50, and inherited runners were scoring 78% of the time. Horrid so far this season, not holding the runners from scoring. Two scoreless innings this game for the pen will knock the ERA down a bit.
