| In a back and forth game with 7 lead changes, the Phils finally come out on top in dramatic fashion. Aaron Rowand caps off a 2 for 4, 5 RBI day with a top of the 9th grand slam homerun off Marlins stopper Kevin Gregg to give the Phillies the win and spoil the Marlins home opener. Both starters in the game, Jamie Moyer and Sergio Mitre, helped out their own causes with their bats. Moyer had an RBI single, while Mitre smacked a 2-run double. In the case of Jamie Moyer, not bad for a guy who is 45 years old and beginning his 22nd major league season! |

WEB GEMS- Bot 8th: Pat Burrell robbed Cody Ross of an extra base hit.
Aaron Rowand ripped a bases loaded blast at Dolphins Stadium as the
Philadelphia Phillies came back dramatically to top the Florida Marlins by
the score of 9 to 6.
Philadelphia came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th
inning when they scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Rowand who
helped quiet the crowd when he launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 2nd of the
season). A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 7 times.
The victory went to Ryan Madson(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Tom
Gordon got the save, his 2nd. Kevin Gregg(0-1) took the loss in relief.
Fredi Gonzalez was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not
in the mood for questions, but I'm sure Charlie Manual will be glad to talk
about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
